Can you imagine what our neighborhoods would look like if we had all that we need? We can rewrite the rules so that everyone contributes to make our schools, hospitals, parks, and programs all that our families deserve, no matter who we are or where we live.
WEALTHY CORPORATIONS AND BILLIONAIRES
A handful of billionaires and their lobbyists have rigged the rules to redirect resources from our communities to their country clubs, from our classrooms to their ballrooms, and from our public parks to their private jets.

Americans are demanding that billionaires pay what they owe so our communities can thrive, and state legislators are stepping up to answer their call and deliver for our families.
The Tax Justice Initiative brings organizers, policy experts, and lawmakers from states across the country to work together to transform the state revenue landscape to favor working families rather than the wealthy.
NATIONWIDE mOVEMENT FOR TAX JUSTICE
The Tax Policy Center found that state legislatures cut taxes by a record amount in 2023 – over $16 billion was largely given away to people at the top of the income ladder. New research from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities has found that since 2021, states have cut taxes that primarily benefit the wealthy that will cost $111 billion over the next 5 years.
The short-sighted tax cuts pose both immediate and longer-term threats to state revenue as Federal COVID funds expire and forecasts call for declining tax collections. In order to avoid another Lost Decade, where tax cuts after the Great Recession lead to budget cuts for education, housing and other critical services, progressives must create a larger movement for tax justice.
With support from State Innovation Exchange and State Revenue Alliance, TJI/Fund Our Future is a state-led and state-based effort advocating for taxing wealth and corporate tax transparency measures.

Fund Our Future is a campaign launched by SiX Action and State Revenue Alliance. Our narrative and messaging is based on research led by ASO Communications and We Make the Future, in collaboration with State Revenue Alliance. We proudly acknowledge and are inspired by AFT’s 2019 campaign to redirect funding to education programs under the same Fund Our Future name.
